Breadwinner

Family finances

Breadwinner is a PC game about being the panganay, the eldest child and the only person in the household with a job. Each payday, you decide how to divide one salary among rent, the electric bill, Nanay’s medicine, your sister’s school fees, and requests from Bunso and Tatay. The money isn’t enough to cover everything.

Six paydays

The game follows six paydays between October and Christmas. After deciding what to pay and what to leave unpaid, you walk home and see what those choices cost. Your family members change with each peso you spend or keep, and they remember what you paid or refused.
