Blackmere

Game premise and objectives

Blackmere is a PC game that mixes exploration and combat within a mysterious fortress built nine hundred years ago. Players descend through the fortress, navigating its non-linear corridors while collecting insights from scattered notes and confronting various enemies. The primary goal is to uncover the side effects of the fortress on the previous expedition by exploring its depths and facing challenges.

Combat and weapons

Combat centers around four weapon types: the Regent's Cleaver, the Warding Bolt, the Splinter Lance, and the Black Sun. Players start with only one weapon, the sword. The other three can be found during the exploration. Beyond the fifth chapter, weapon acquisition transitions to character choices influenced by room interactions rather than direct items. Players engage in fights against eight distinct enemy types, including Hallow, Bulwark, and Chorister, each requiring different strategies.
