Black Autumn: 1438

Setting and role

Black Autumn: 1438 is a historical medieval game for PC, set in Hungary in autumn 1438. King Sigismund died the previous winter, Albert of Habsburg wears Hungary’s crown, and the road below Šášov castle is unsafe. You play an ordinary man in a valley of villages, mining towns and soldiers’ camps. The valley carries on whether you’re there or not.

Combat and armor

Fights end in seconds, when someone can’t continue. Weapons interact with armor according to what they’re made of: a sword skids off plate, while a war hammer can get through it. The game includes more than 40 weapons, from pitchforks to halberds. A lost leg leaves you crawling, and a hard blow can knock your helmet off.
