Bento Express

Running the stall

Bento Express is a first-person kiosk sim for PC set at a quiet island train platform in rural Japan. You run a wooden food stall alone, preparing meals and serving passengers as trains arrive with hundreds of people looking for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Cooking takes hands-on steps rather than one-click recipes. You pour water into the rice cooker and switch it on, season miso, boil noodles, and flour and fry karaage. For some batches, you hold a pour and release it on a gold band to make the food cook faster.
