Benson Bones

A top-down RPG

Benson Bones is a top-down pixel art adventure RPG for PC about a boy who wakes in a graveyard with no memory and a dog who becomes his companion. You travel through a world of graveyards, forests and caves, fight its enemies, and look for answers about your awakening. The dog disappears, and the hooded figure who offers help points you toward dormant frames hidden across the realms. Light them to extend the reach of his door, which otherwise only goes where it has already been. Somewhere beyond it is Benson.

Reading enemy attacks

Combat asks you to watch for enemy tells rather than mash attacks. Tap for a light combo or hold for a heavy slash, and roll through attacks at the last second. When an enemy prepares an attack, you can interrupt it and punish them. Bosses use feints, flurries and second phases, each with rules to learn and attacks to read.
