Beneath the Record

Case files and contradictions

Beneath the Record is a PC investigation game about revisiting old case files to find what their conclusions leave out. You compare witness statements with evidence from the scene, looking for contradictions and details that don’t add up. Records about the same incident can tell different stories, and new clues can change how you understand a case.

Reconstructing events

Pin important sentences to collect clues from different records, then arrange character and object tokens to reconstruct what happened. You compare your arrangement with the records and use it to piece together the sequence of events.
