Before the Pyre

Turn-based card strategy

Before the Pyre is a single-player, turn-based card strategy game for PC about leading a secret coven in a medieval land marked by plague, war, and witch hunts. You assign witches, study forbidden books, experiment with ingredients, and use the magic you uncover to respond to crises. Your choices can help the people around you, but using magic can also leave traces that put your coven at risk.

Magic and decisions

The game has six schools of magic, with discoveries opening up different ways to act. You might heal the sick, conceal an ally, alter memories, or bargain with an ancient spirit. Your witches have their own talents, loyalties, and limits, so you must decide who studies and who gathers supplies, as well as who takes the risk of being seen.
