Backmare: Return of the nightmare

Psychological survival horror

Backmare: Return of the nightmare is a PC psychological survival horror game about returning to the aftermath of a mysterious 2007 event involving missing children. The story takes place exactly one year later, when you’re drawn back into the darkness to investigate what happened and piece together a truth that has been forgotten.

Investigation and survival

You investigate unsettling scenarios, solve puzzles and look for clues to the game’s lore. Threats lurk in the environment, and survival means more than running away: you need to keep alert to sounds, flickering lights and dangers concealed around you. The game frames the surroundings as part of the threat, alongside the entities within them.
