Automata Streetcar

The Art of Connection in Automata Streetcar

In Automata Streetcar, players are thrust into an engaging exploration of social connection and community through the lens of historic streetcars. This interactive digital-media art project serves as an innovative storytelling medium that revives the charm of British Columbia's past transit systems, particularly reflecting on the quaint town of Nelson.

Navigating Nelson’s Historic Streets

As players step into the roles of conductor and driver, they guide their streetcar through a digital recreation of Nelson's main street as it existed a century ago. The gameplay revolves around collecting passengers and fostering a sense of community, challenging players to engage with historical context as they maintain a flow reminiscent of the original streetcar operations. Through this simulation, players confront the importance of connection in urban life.
