AIDA Space Program

A comet on a deadline

AIDA Space Program is a hard-SF rocket-building and spaceflight game for PC, with a story campaign spanning 50 years. A comet called AIDA passes the planet Gaia every 12 years, coming closer each time; on its fifth pass, it hits. You build a space program capable of determining the comet’s orbit and choosing a way to stop it.

The campaign follows a program whose people have forgotten how to look up. Its early missions teach spaceflight through failed plans and crashes before the engineers explain what went wrong. IRIS, an AI coordinator, teaches the concepts without flying the missions for you. Later, she can automate tasks you’ve learned.
