AFAR: An Interactive Horror Film invites players to traverse a haunting narrative steeped in nostalgia. As a modern take on survival horror, this PC title meshes film and gameplay through a personal lens. Set against the backdrop of unsettling Australian rainforests, players assume the role of Brian Everette, a paranormal investigator tasked with unraveling a missing persons case linked to a reality show gone awry. With each choice affecting your fate, the descent into dread is entirely in your hands.

Crafting Terror: A DIY Horror Experience

What distinguishes AFAR is its independent spirit. Created solely by one individual deep within the rainforests of Australia, the game showcases a raw aesthetic that evokes classic 90s FMV adventures. The unsettling visuals and atmosphere come from a filmmaker's craft, merging traditional storytelling with gameplay elements that encourage players to confront their fears. This unique combination enhances the feeling of isolation while manipulating the tension through striking visuals.
