A Taste of Success

A cook competing for promotion

A Taste of Success is a PC game about Reynard Russet, a cook at Vor, a prestigious city restaurant run by celebrity chef Vordalak. You cook your way through a grueling competition for the chance to become Vordalak’s personal sous chef. The job promises career acclaim, but Reynard also wants to make his wife, Rosey, and their child, Ronnie, happy. The story asks what he’s willing to sacrifice to succeed.

The competition takes place in a world where food scarcity is making meat harder to obtain. Vordalak insists that Vor will keep serving fine meat dishes, and he treats his kitchen staff as a means to protect the restaurant’s reputation. The premise puts Reynard’s ambitions and family life against a demanding boss who sees personal attachments as weakness.
