Rise of the Blue Comet: A Legendary Train

The Blue Comet was operated by the Central Railroad of New Jersey from 1929 to 1941, conceived as a clever strategy to attract patrons from the rival Pennsylvania Railroad. Visionary Roy Barton White aimed to provide a luxurious travel alternative between New York and Atlantic City. This train featured a distinctive livery of Packard blue, royal blue, and Jersey cream, resembling a comet racing through the sky, which helped encapsulate its allure and speed.
