Powerful Performance with Historical Credibility

The EMD SD 45 is known for power, capable of producing 3,600 hp thanks to its 20-cylinder design. Among U.S. railroads, it was a popular choice, primarily for freight and intermodal services. With over 1,200 units built between 1965 and 1971, many of these engines can still be found in service, which adds a touch of authenticity to the Train Simulator experience. The lore and history behind the SD 45 add depth, making it not just about locomotives, but the stories that shaped them.
