The Alters: Last Variable

The Alters DLC story

The Alters: Last Variable is story DLC for The Alters, following the ending where Jan Scientist stays on the planet. He leads a team of new specialists made from himself, while the other Jans left. The story centers on the Oasis, a lush place that shouldn’t exist, and the crew’s efforts to uncover how it survives.

Research and terraforming

You terraform nine arenas to investigate the Oasis. Research can bring answers, but the planet pushes back with earthquakes and radiation. The crew’s scientific work also takes place against years-long cycles of scorching sunrises that force them underground.
