Card strategy and auto-battles

Nanyang: Ballad of War is a strategic card game with auto-battler combat, set in a Chinese-inspired seafaring fantasy world. You choose a hero, recruit followers, equip them, and arrange your forces in front and back rows. Units fight automatically once battle begins, while cards from your hand let you intervene with effects such as an extra hit, protection for equipment, or a wooden talisman that sets off other effects.

Positioning matters before the fight. Rows, neighboring pieces, and the space taken up by pieces of different sizes all affect your formation. You have to build a setup that works on its own, then decide when a card can change the battle.
