Khanate: Fire Before Dark

Historical strategy in Central Asia

Khanate: Fire Before Dark is a PC historical strategy game set in Central Asia in 1646. You rule one of 30 realms, including Bukhara or Khiva, or begin as an officer with a few men and a horse. As an officer, you can fight for pay, earn a post, govern a town and lead an army, with the possibility of eventually taking power.

Russia, the Qing, Iran and the Mughals are weak at the start, but grow stronger each year. Your aim is to build a state able to withstand their demands and armies, then make all four accept it for good. Time spent fighting neighbours is time the empires have to prepare.
