Combat and tactics

Doomsayer is a turn-based strategy game where players take on the role of a prophet, declaring their next actions aloud. The core mechanic involves speaking your move, after which enemies commit to their responses. The strategy hinges on manipulating the outcomes by breaking your word and misleading foes with feints. Players can employ various tactics, including six different Fate verbs that allow actions such as moving enemies into hazardous positions, swapping places, or creating explosive effects from the ground.

Deception mechanics

Players can utilize deception by misrepresenting their intentions. You can feign moves, plant false information, and even speak multiple intentions at once. This adds a layer of psychological warfare, as enemies will anticipate your declared actions, leaving room for you to outmaneuver them.
