Bird Feeder

A garden above your taskbar

Bird Feeder is a cozy idle bird-watching game for PC, set in a narrow garden above your taskbar. It needs no internet connection. You can leave it running while you work or do other things, then glance down to see which birds have visited. When you return after a while, a postcard reports what happened if there’s news.

The garden attracts 44 birds from the Pacific Northwest and two rare strays. Each newcomer adds a sealed page to your Bird Book. Hear a bird call or song in the garden and you can play it back on that bird’s page, alongside a sonogram. The calls are synthesized interpretations tuned against measurements of real recordings, not field recordings.
