Established in November 2021 and officially announced in January 2022, the Tokyo-based studio is a wholly-owned subsidiary of NetEase Games. The studio was formed by Nagoshi along with several other veteran developers, including former Yakuza series producer Daisuke Sato, after their departure from Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio.
