Turing Tumble VR

Discover the World of Turing Tumble VR

Turing Tumble VR introduces players to a unique mechanical computer experience on PC. Built around the concept of marbles propelling mechanical components, this innovative game visually depicts how microprocessors function at a fundamental level. Prof. Paul Boswell, a former educator at the University of Minnesota, crafted this engaging tool, which enables users to grasp the concepts of computer programming through hands-on puzzle-solving.

Unraveling Logic with Mechanical Parts

Players manipulate a vibrant board using blue and red marbles alongside six different types of mechanical components. Each part allows you to construct various computing machines, leveraging the game's Turing complete set of elements. This means that, given enough space, your creations can perform any computation that's possible with modern computers. Experimenting with these building blocks brings clarity to complex programming concepts and showcases the simplicity behind connecting switches to achieve sophisticated outcomes.
