THERMAL RUNAWAY

Game premise and structure

THERMAL RUNAWAY is a roguelike game where players face one hundred waves of enemies in a single room, Chamber 7-A. The objective is to survive the waves while managing character upgrades. Each run lasts approximately 35 to 50 minutes and includes various systems like upgrades and experimental Protocols that influence gameplay.

Upgrades and Protocols

During each run, you gain an upgrade for your character every three waves and a new experimental Protocol every ten waves. The upgrades are designed to change gameplay mechanics rather than simply increasing damage output. Players can combine 62 different upgrades and 13 unique Protocols, which add complexity to how you develop your character and playstyle.
