The Flame and the Sword

Story and setting

The Flame and the Sword is a fantasy visual novel set in the kingdom of Valdra. You play Sera, a second-order arcanist who carries a fire that responds to emotion rather than spells. When a wounded knight brings news that the northern city of Storn has gone silent, Sera is drawn into a conflict older than the kingdom. Storn’s people are still there, standing in the streets with open eyes, but nobody is behind them. A Shadow Mage holds the city and hums a lullaby.

Choices and consequences

Choices affect Sera’s relationships, available resources and corruption meter. Corruption changes how she looks, sounds and makes decisions. The story has seven endings, from a true ending to a fall into darkness, along with smaller epilogues shaped by who you save. Side quests and allies also affect the final battle.
