The Crypt

RUNEBLADE is a top-down action roguelike for PC about holding a line against a growing horde. In the demo, each run takes place in the Crypt and lasts ten minutes, ending when the King appears. Your blade strikes automatically, so you focus on positioning: deciding what to stand near, what to avoid, and which offered boon to take as the ground changes.

Combat and progression

You play as the Templar, an Oathbound Bulwark whose Consecration burns enemies standing on the ground it affects. Runs have three stages before the King, and clearing the Crypt opens the weapon gate for the meteor. Shards earned during a run can be spent at the Sanctum between runs. The demo opens the trunk and the first node in each Sanctum tree branch: armour, power and experience. Even a run that ends in the third minute earns shards to spend.
