Rails of Revival: China 1889

A railway strategy game

Rails of Revival: China 1889 is a PC railway and economic strategy game set in China from 1889 to 1937. You build a rail network over forty-eight years, linking mines, mills, ports and cities so freight can move and your railway can earn money. Track is laid tile by tile on an eight-way grid, with bridges needed for rivers and grades for mountains.

Freight and industry

Cities, mines and mills each have their own stock and prices. Delivering goods lowers prices at the destination, while a lack of supply pushes them up. The game tracks 24 goods, including coal, salt, silk and machine parts. You can build mills and haul their products on your own railway: coal and iron supply steelworks, steel goes to rail mills and locomotive works, and cotton is made into yarn and cloth.
