Game premise and structure

Primitive Shades is a first-person, story-driven horror game that unfolds in multiple parts. The base game includes Part 1: Better Left Abandoned, which sets the stage for the story that will continue in future downloadable content (DLC). Players navigate an abandoned school, initially joined by a friend who ultimately does not arrive. Alone, you explore the empty halls where a hidden puzzle awaits discovery.

Exploration and puzzles

In the game, you search the school and solve various puzzles. The exploration is key to piecing together the events that led to the school's abandonment. As you investigate, you uncover hidden clues that provide more context to the setting. The brainteasers may seem harmless at first but serve as the catalyst for more dangerous encounters as the story progresses.
