Navigate Life in Arstotzka: Papers, Please

Papers, Please places players in the role of an immigration inspector at a border checkpoint in the bleak, fictional land of Arstotzka. Following the October labor lottery, you are tasked with determining who can cross the border from Kolechia. The weight of your decisions impacts not just your fate, but the lives of the people trying to enter your country including potential threats like smugglers and terrorists.

Daily Choices Shape the World

Every day, workers funnel through your checkpoint, each bringing a story and unique set of documents. The challenge lies in scrutinizing each person’s paperwork against the Ministry of Admission's requirements and identifying discrepancies. As the job demands stamina and attention to detail, even the smallest oversight can lead to serious consequences, such as allowing a criminal to evade capture or sending a needy family back into a dangerous situation.
