毛蟹穴

2D puzzle game

毛蟹穴 is a 2D side-scrolling puzzle game based on a real burial-alive incident in the Shalu area of Taichung during the Jiaqing era of the Qing dynasty. You solve puzzles as the story unfolds, with cutout-style art inspired by Taiwanese shadow puppetry.

Mini-games and story

Alongside the puzzles, you play mini-games about preparing medicine and catching chickens. The game was developed as a 2021 graduation project by students at Ching Kuo Institute of Management and Health. It has five planned chapters, with the first chapter fully developed; that chapter takes about 40 minutes to play.
