ABOUT THIS GAME

Rule Through Gold, Not Orders

Majesty 2 flips the real-time strategy formula by putting you in the unusual position of a ruler who can't directly command their subjects. Your heroes, wizards, and warriors have minds of their own, making decisions based on their personalities rather than your orders. The only tool at your disposal? Your treasury and the promise of rewards.

Heroes with Their Own Agenda

The game's central mechanic revolves around indirect control through monetary incentives. Want your heroes to explore that dangerous dungeon? Post a bounty. Need them to defend the northern gate? Offer a reward. Each hero class responds differently to various incentives, creating a dynamic where you're constantly negotiating with your own forces rather than commanding them.

Campaign Through the Kingdom of Ardania

The single-player campaign spans 16 missions across four distinct chapters, each presenting different challenges for your growing kingdom. Beyond the main story, quick missions provide bite-sized scenarios perfect for testing new strategies. The campaign structure allows you to gradually master the art of ruling through influence rather than authority.

Building Your Fantasy Domain

City construction follows familiar fantasy kingdom building patterns, but with the twist that your structures must appeal to independent-minded heroes. Guilds train different warrior classes, temples provide healing and magic, while markets and taverns keep everyone happy. The challenge lies in creating a kingdom that naturally draws heroes to the tasks you need completed.

Combat Through Mercenary Classes

More than 10 different hero classes populate your realm, from noble paladins to wild barbarians and spell-wielding wizards. Each class has distinct motivations, combat styles, and preferred targets. Rangers excel at exploration, while warriors gravitate toward direct combat. Understanding these preferences becomes crucial for effective kingdom management.

Multiplayer Kingdom Building

LAN multiplayer supports up to four players, each managing their own kingdom while competing or cooperating on shared maps. The indirect control system creates interesting dynamics in multiplayer, as you can't coordinate attacks with the precision of traditional RTS games. Success depends more on economic planning and hero motivation than micro-management.

Sequel to a Strategy Classic

As the official follow-up to 2000's Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim, this PC sequel maintains the original's distinctive approach while expanding the systems. The core concept remains unchanged: you're a ruler who must work with, rather than control, the heroes protecting your realm. It's strategy gaming that demands patience and economic thinking over quick reflexes.
