Ice River

Unraveling Mysteries in Ice River

In Ice River, a point-and-click adventure game for PC, players are transported back to the late 1990s in northeastern China. Set in the fictional city of Jiangping, inspired by real-life locations like Shenyang and Changchun, this narrative-driven journey centers around young Dun, who sets out to uncover the truth behind his mother's long disappearance. The game skillfully marries personal history with the broader socio-political landscape of the region.

A Tale of Two Generations

The journey begins after Dun's father's funeral in the small southern town of Lelin. As he embarks on a quest to find his mother, players will explore how family dynamics and historical events intertwine. Ice River challenges players to investigate a long-buried family case that spans generations. As players interact with the environment and characters, they gradually unveil the dark secrets that shaped not just Dun's life, but the experiences of many in northeastern China.
