GWENT: Rogue Mage (Single-Player Expansion)

Game premise and structure

GWENT: Rogue Mage is a single-player expansion for GWENT: The Witcher Card Game, combining elements of roguelike, deckbuilding, and strategy gameplay within the framework of card battles. Set hundreds of years before the events of The Witcher series, the game follows Alzur, a young mage, and his companion Lily as they attempt to create a living weapon to combat an influx of monsters brought on by the Conjunction of the Spheres.

Combat mechanics

In this game, battles are played in a single round format, requiring strategic use of resources and cards. Players utilize a new resource called energy to cast powerful spells from Alzur's Grimoire during their turns. Energy can be replenished between battles by visiting Places of Power or through random encounters encountered while exploring the map.
