桂花落

The Heart of 桂花落: A Narrative Puzzle Experience

In 桂花落, players engage with a poignant narrative that unfolds in a central Chinese county town. This narrative puzzle game immerses you in the life of a grandmother with hearing difficulties, who must bid farewell to her hometown. Set on her last day there, players walk alongside her as she reflects on the past, making connections and uncovering memories before leaving for medical help with her daughter.

Exploring Themes of Aging and Connection

The game tackles the challenges faced by the elderly, particularly those with hearing impairments. With approximately 5% of the global population experiencing hearing loss, the game’s representation of these challenges is both timely and necessary. By using text that subtly obscures sound, players gain insight into the experience of living with hearing difficulties, creating an impactful emotional connection to the character.
