Uncovering the Dark Humor of Gloom: Digital

Welcome to Gloom: Digital, a PC game that embraces the absurdity of tragedy. This quirky tabletop adaptation challenges players to orchestrate the most unfortunate fates for their eccentric families, employing a delightful mix of dark humor and strategic gameplay. In this world, misery is the key to victory, and your goal is to push your family into the depths of despair while keeping your opponents blissfully unaware of their impending doom.

The Concept of Tragedy as Strategy

In Gloom, you control a bizarre family of misfits, each with their own unique story and characteristics. Your task is to inflict as much suffering as possible on them before they find their final respite. By using modifier cards, you can describe a laundry list of unfortunate events, like getting them written out of a will or having a penguin deliver poison. The wittiness of these scenarios adds a layer of entertainment as you turn your characters’ misfortunes into hilarious tales.
