Game premise and mechanics

Chesstics is a tactical game that combines traditional chess mechanics with combat elements. Players control pieces that move as they would in chess, but each piece has health, attack, and armor statistics. Instead of capturing an opposing piece simply by landing on it, pieces engage in direct combat. Damage is dealt based on a piece's attack strength, and surviving pieces can counterattack immediately. This system means that strategy revolves around calculating damage exchanges rather than just positioning.

Units and their roles

The game includes six unit types with specific abilities. Pikemen advance like pawns and stop riders in their tracks. Archers can fire over unit ranks, attacking two to three squares along a straight line. Rangers move diagonally, while Cavalry jump like knights, absorbing the most damage. The Queen and King remain as they do in traditional chess, supporting other units. Each unit has strengths and weaknesses against the others, encouraging strategic play and foresight.
