Nostalgic Card Battle Adventure
Cardpocalypse drops you into the sneakers of 10-year-old Jess on her first day at Dudsdale Elementary, where accidentally getting everyone's favorite collectible card game banned kicks off an adventure that blends childhood nostalgia with supernatural chaos. When mutants from the Mega Mutant Power Pets card game invade the real world, underground card battles become the key to saving both school and reality.
Single-Player RPG with Trading Card Combat
This single-player RPG centers entirely around collectible card game mechanics, where every battle plays out through strategic deck construction and card play. You'll build decks around ultra-rare Champion cards, each offering unique abilities that shape your entire strategy. Matches end when you reduce your opponent's Champion to zero health, but these powerful cards evolve into MEGA forms at half health, gaining new powers and increased attack damage.
Permanent Choices and Card Customization
The game's most distinctive feature lies in its permanent modification system. You can rename cards, apply sticker upgrades, and even create entirely new cards using the Mega Mutant Power Magazine. House rules change throughout your adventure, and every sticker placement or rule modification becomes a permanent part of your playthrough. No save scumming here—your choices stick, making each player's collection truly unique.
1990s Elementary School Setting
Dudsdale Elementary serves as your playground, complete with floppy disk computers and magazine cheat codes that capture authentic 90s nostalgia. You'll explore classrooms and hallways while unraveling strange occurrences, taking on quests that reward you with cards, stickers, and candy. The school environment feels lived-in, populated by classmates ready to trade cards—but remember, there's no backsies on any deal you make.
Strategic Trading and Collection Management
Resource scarcity drives meaningful decision-making throughout your adventure. Stickers are rare, candy serves as currency, and you can't collect every card available. Trading with classmates becomes essential, but every exchange requires careful consideration since you can't undo these transactions. This limitation forces you to prioritize which cards and upgrades matter most for your evolving strategy.
Gauntlet Mode for Extended Replayability
Beyond the main campaign, Gauntlet Mode offers a roguelike experience where each run presents unique challenges. You'll select a champion and fight through increasingly difficult battles, drafting new cards, rules, and rewards after every victory. This mode tests your ability to adapt strategies on the fly while building toward powerful card combinations that can carry you through the entire gauntlet.
