Boom or Bloom is a fireworks-making game for PC, set in a workshop preparing a show for the town. You add scoops of ingredients to shells to raise their value, then seal them before their pressure passes a hidden limit. Each shell has clues to help judge the risk: a gauge shows its pressure, a red zone marks where that type of shell’s limit might be, and a stethoscope indicates how thick the shell is. The stethoscope can only be heard by its wearer, who must have empty hands at the clamp, so in multiplayer that player has to relay what they hear.

A shell can keep reacting after it starts smoking and shaking. Pressure rises for a moment, so sealing it immediately can still set it off. An explosion sends the workbench flying, knocks nearby people over and sets the closest person on fire. The workshop cat bolts when a shell is about to blow, unless it’s napping.
