Fishing on The FishCast Network

Angler 2003 is a fishing game set inside a regional television programme from 2003. You cast, wait for the float to dip, hook a fish, then keep a ring on it as it pulls away. A trout takes about fifteen seconds to land; a pike takes longer. Fights depend on reading a bar rather than mashing a button.

The programme airs on The FishCast Network, with a test card before the lake, bait ads during breaks, replays, viewer letters and a nightly closedown. Viewers send letters that direct the show to its next location, and the channel gets a little worse week by week. Leave the set alone and it closes down for the night.
