Carcassonne - The River

Transforming Your Landscape in Carcassonne - The River

In Carcassonne - The River, players can change the dynamic of their tile-laying strategy with a fresh twist on gameplay. This expansion introduces a series of new landscape tiles that enhance the foundational mechanics of the base game. By replacing the standard starting tile with a flowing river composed of 11 specialized tiles, players can reshape how they build their territories from the very beginning.

Strategic Tile Placement with River Expansion

The River expansion encourages players to think about their tile placements more strategically. By adding the river tiles, you set the stage for more evenly distributed landscapes throughout the game. Each turn, as you lay river tiles and connect them to features in your landscape, you must carefully consider how best to deploy your meeples, ensuring optimal scoring opportunities by following the illustration guidelines.
