The Shift

The Shift: A Closer Look at Psychological Horror

The Shift immerses players in a gripping first-person psychological horror narrative set in a desolate gas station during the haunting hours of night. As the new night shift cashier, your tasks seem mundane, but an unsettling atmosphere hangs heavy in the air. The retro VHS/PSX-style graphics enhance this eerie experience, pulling you into a world where the ordinary quickly spirals into the bizarre.

Tension Builds with Routine Tasks

The game utilizes everyday duties to enhance its tension. As you handle routine tasks (stocking shelves, managing the register, and attending to occasional customers) the game subtly introduces horror elements. These mundane actions are tinged with an underlying dread that escalates as time passes. Players quickly realize that every completed task leads to unforeseen consequences, heightening the psychological tension at play.
