Building an aircraft

Wing It is a PC flight and transport game about keeping Swallow Field open. Twelve years after Helen Whitaker disappeared, her grandchild receives a letter from Gus Morrow, her old mechanic. The airfield is in debt, the bank plans to auction it, and Condor Group is waiting to buy it. You start with a hangar and a few tools, then build aircraft and take cargo jobs to turn the airfield into a working business.

You design planes rather than choosing from a preset list. Shape the fuselage and wings, choose a cockpit, fit engines ranging from piston to turbofan, and add landing gear, cargo space or passenger seats. Parts have their own mass and price, and fuel sits in the wing tanks. Lift, drag, weight and thrust depend on your design, so a plane that’s poorly balanced or underpowered will make itself known at takeoff.
