Waveling Island is a creature-collecting sim for PC set on a tropical island. You wash ashore with a backpack, then catch, train, and battle Wavelings while completing quests and gathering materials. The island’s creatures roam in the open, and you can approach them where you find them rather than triggering random encounters or entering a separate battle screen.

Real-time battles

You fight with a party of up to five Wavelings. Each can learn up to eight moves, and you can customize its move set to suit your approach, whether you build around type advantages or one strategy. Battles run in real time: your Wavelings fight while waiting for your commands, and a frequency bar fills during combat. When it’s ready, you choose an attack and time your command to take control of the fight.
