Ultima 8 Gold Edition

Game premise and objectives

Ultima 8 Gold Edition is an action-oriented role-playing game that continues the Ultima series' narrative. In the game, you play as the Avatar, who has been banished to the dark world of Pagan after defeating Batlin on Serpent's Isle. Your main goal is to find a way back to Britannia and Earth. To do this, you must approach the situation with the harsh reality of the world, where followers of the elemental Titans, now considered gods, terrorize the local population.

Action and skills

The game places a greater emphasis on action elements than previous installments, with mechanics that include climbing and jumping across platforms. Skills improve based on usage; the more you utilize an ability, the better you become at it. You don't have a party to aid you, making it essential to rely on your character’s strength, dexterity, intelligence, and magical abilities throughout the journey.
