The Word Is Not The Thing

Exploring Emotions in The Word Is Not The Thing

The Word Is Not The Thing is an experimental indie game on PC that delves into the emotional connection we have with language. Rather than focusing on traditional mechanics like jumping and shooting, this game invites players to observe and engage with their feelings through words. Drawing inspiration from the ideas of philosopher J. Krishnamurti, the game facilitates a profound exploration of the human psyche as players navigate complex emotional landscapes.

A Journey Through Five Distinct Locations

The gameplay unfolds over three days across five unique locations: the home, the commute, the office, nature, and the self. Each setting serves as a backdrop for personal introspection and emotional discovery. As players interact with the environment and other characters, they discover how words can influence their emotional experiences. This setting juxtaposes the daily grind with the profound exploration of one's inner self.
