Racing Against Time in Sunset Sprinters '98

In Sunset Sprinters '98, players step into the sneakers of Dante, a high-energy teen on a whimsical quest to snag a copy of A Legend of Time. It’s Friday evening, and the school bell has just rung. But there’s no time to waste, everyone else has the same idea, and Dante’s determined to reach the MegaHits Video store first. This PC game captures the thrill of youth, urgency, and the quirky obstacles that lie between players and their weekend plans.

Collecting Cans for Cash

To secure his weekend, Dante needs cash, and the only way to get it is through a frantic hunt for aluminum cans scattered throughout the neighborhood. This engaging mechanic, dubbed “Trash for Cash,” pushes players to maintain their pace as they gather every recyclable item in sight. Timing is crucial, as players navigate the streets, dodging distractions while stuffing cans into the recycling machine at the end of each level. Without these cans, renting that coveted game becomes impossible.
