A toy-theatre roguelike

Snarekin is a monster-collecting roguelike set on a Victorian toy-theatre stage. You pick a lead performer, take a troupe on tour, battle other creatures and snare the ones you defeat. Its 151 creatures are jointed card puppets, engraved and painted in watercolour; caught performers change from Penny Plain to Twopence Coloured in your cast list.

Turn-based battles

Battles use turns, with nine types determining which moves hit hardest. There are no hidden stats or reflex tests, so you can work out which move to use. Creatures can only be snared after they fall, including bosses, and a thrown snare rocks before you find out whether it holds.
