Set the Record Straight

Set the Record Straight: Uncover the Truths of 1998

In Set the Record Straight, players step into the shoes of a diligent researcher in 1998, tasked with mending the inaccuracies within the credits of various creative works. Fueled by an early search engine and an archive of webpages, Usenet posts, zines, and liner notes, the player embarks on an investigative journey to clarify the true contributors behind notable pieces of art and culture.

Dissecting the Puzzle of Credit Attribution

The heart of the game lies in solving self-contained cases. Each case requires you to read through an array of documents and visual materials, piecing together the identities of those who often go unrecognized. Your mission unfolds in three distinct parts: identifying who was credited, deciphering what really transpired, and finally determining who deserves the acclaim. This deductive approach keeps the gameplay grounded, relying more on research and logical thinking than on reflexes or combat.
