Rockhound Hollow

Rockhounding on PC

Rockhound Hollow is a cozy collecting game about finding real rocks and minerals at real-world dig sites. You inherit Aunt Opal’s cabin and rock tumbler, with Pebble the cat for company, then head out to search. The game has 24 sites, from Keokuk, Iowa, and Mount Ida, Arkansas, to Australia’s opal fields. Some sites are only accessible in certain seasons.

Each location has its own way to search. You can probe creek mud for geodes, spray Lake Superior beach stones to see their agate bands, or chip quartz crystals from red clay and work them loose. Other activities include washing for Montana sapphires, panning for California gold, running a sluice for North Carolina rubies and garnets, and using a UV lamp to look for fluorescent minerals in mine tailings at night. You can also split shale for trilobites, detect meteorites, and hunt for diamonds.
