Mr. Tanaka

Trapped in the building

Mr. Tanaka is a PC survival horror game about escaping a four-story housing block after a man who followed you home locks you inside. Find an axe somewhere in the building, reach the ground floor and cut the chain on the iron door while Tanaka patrols the corridors and stairs.

Listen and hide

The camera stays fixed on a single view, cutting between angles rather than moving freely. You track Tanaka by sound: his footsteps on the stairs, the elevator stopping, and doors opening. Walls and distance affect what you hear, and he can hear your footsteps too. If he sees you, run to a hiding place such as a closet, electrical cabinet or elevator car. He remembers where he last heard you.
