Mortal Chess

The Dying Count of Mortal Chess

Mortal Chess transforms the timeless game of chess into a gripping test of strategy and survival. Designed for PC, this single-player variant introduces a life countdown mechanic, pushing players to balance offensive tactics with the urgent need to prolong the lives of their pieces. Victory isn't just about checkmate; it hinges on effective resource management and tactical foresight as each move brings the inevitability of lost pieces closer.

Survival Tactics in Every Move

In this variant, both players start with a lean army consisting of a king, a rook, a knight, a bishop, and four pawns. One notable absence is the queen, which must be earned through gameplay. The clock is quite literally ticking, as every piece has a visible life countdown. Players must strategize not only to advance their position but to prevent their forces from dwindling into an untenable situation.
