Maze Runner

Maze escape

Maze Runner is a minimalistic maze game for PC about finding a way out using a two-footprint rule. You mark paths with footprints as you move through each maze, using those marks to decide where to go next.

The two-footprint rule

At a crossroads, leave one footprint on the path you came from and one on the path you’re taking. If you reach a dead end, turn back and leave a second footprint there. Choose paths with no footprints whenever possible. Never take a path with two footprints; if no unvisited path remains, leave two footprints and go back. When returning from a dead end with no unvisited path available, choose a path marked with one footprint.
